Pedestrian Sensors Placement for Downtown Newark
In an effort to enhance pedestrian mobility and safety, the Newark Downtown District (NDD) purchased five pedestrian sensors from E-Counter to monitor foot traffic flow in the Central Business District.
I conducted a detailed study to determine the optimal locations for these sensors to capture various types of pedestrian data. Based on this study, I proposed strategic recommendations for placing the sensors on Atlantic Street, Halsey Street, Broad Street, near Newark Penn Station, and Mulberry Street.
This proposal has been successfully implemented, and the NDD is now able to quantify foot traffic levels using E-Counter's data software, E'covisio.
This data helps the NDD effectively monitor and analyze pedestrian traffic patterns, improving the overall walking experience in Downtown Newark.
